What do I do when an urge hits?

Open Urge Buddy and tap your buddy (or the “I’m craving” shortcut from Siri, Spotlight or the Action Button). Say where you are and how you feel, and your buddy picks a task of one to five minutes. Don’t like it? Spin again once.

What counts as an urge beaten?

After the task, your buddy asks how you feel. If you feel a lot better or a little better, that’s an urge beaten. Your count only goes up.

I slipped. Do I lose everything?

No. Your days clean start again, but your best run and every urge you’ve beaten are kept.

Check-ins and locked apps

When do my apps lock?

If you chose apps to lock, they lock at your morning and night check-in times (7:00 AM and 9:00 PM unless you changed them) and stay locked until you open Urge Buddy and answer your buddy’s question.

How do I change the times or the locked apps?

Open Urge Buddy, tap the gear in the top right, and change them in Settings.

My apps aren’t locking.

Check that Screen Time is on (Settings → Screen Time) and that Urge Buddy still has access (Settings → Screen Time → Apps With Screen Time Access). Make sure your subscription is active, then choose your apps again in Urge Buddy’s Settings.

Can I chat without AI?

Yes. Turn off “replies with AI” in Settings. Your buddy then uses set replies and nothing you write leaves your phone.

Subscription

How do I cancel?

On your iPhone, go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Urge Buddy. Cancel at least 24 hours before your trial or renewal date to avoid being charged. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel your subscription.

I already paid but the app asks me to subscribe.

Tap Restore on the subscription screen. Make sure you’re signed in with the same Apple ID you used to subscribe.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Your data

How do I delete my data?

Email us with the app ID from the bottom of Settings. We’ll delete everything linked to it within 30 days. Most of what you do in the app never leaves your phone; see our Privacy Policy.
